Modern Luxury Spotlight: Luxury Meets Sustainability

By Lauren Stone

Nestled in the glittering skyline of the Las Vegas Strip resides the newest gem of the Genting Group hospitality portfolio: Resorts World, Las Vegas. A 2024 Modern Luxury Travel Award winner, this sumptuous resort marks a new era and sustainable luxury hospitality.

Resorts World is inspired by the bold vision of the company’s founder, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Lim Goh Tong, who dreamt of creating an extravagant resort top and undeveloped mountain in Malaysia. Despite skepticism, he persevered and opened one of the most globally successful resorts to this day – an ambitious spirit Resorts World channels in every venture. The Las Vegas outpost embodies this innovative legacy by combining state-of-the-art technology with timeless luxury.

At the heart of the multi-faceted Vegas complex lies the world‘s largest Conrad hotel, with 1,496 elegant rooms and suites, eye-catching artwork, innovative tech and premium amenities such as the Awana Spa – a one-of-a-kind space offering personalized treatments inspired by European and Eastern rituals.

Beyond its luxury design and indulgent services, Resorts World is LEED Gold Certified, positioning it among the best energy-efficient facilities in the world. Built using pre-existing design structures and eco-friendly materials throughout the property, sustainability has been a part of the resort’s ethos since its inception in 2021.

While features like electric vehicle charging spots and water bottle filling stations are visible, eco amenities, many of the resort’s sustainability initiatives are unseen by guests but no less impactful. Along with conserving resources and diverting more than 80% of waste and debris from landfills during its construction, Resorts World utilizes a patented indoor air monitoring system that improves air quality while reducing energy usage. The resort has also implemented water efficiency measures such as low-flow fixtures, which helped reduce water consumption by over 40%.

Resorts World is dedicated to making a positive environmental impact throughout all of its operations, including its upscale culinary concepts, like Italian and Mediterranean-inspired plant-based restaurant Crossroads, traditional Chinese, eatery Genting Palace and innovative Latin restaurant Viva. Guests can dine in style without compromising environmental conscience as the resort sends food waste to local farms where it’s converted into animal feed.

In true Las Vegas fashion, Resorts World offers unmatched entertainment opportunities – from hosting A-list concerts at The Theater to creating exhilarating nightlife experiences at Zouk Nightclub. Whether it’s spending the day lounging at the pool deck or dancing at the Ayu Dayclub, there’s never a dull moment here.

Featuring 7 million square feet of lavish suites, unparalleled amenities, restorative spa sanctuaries and vibrant experiences, Resorts World’s realm of hospitality superstars caters to discerning guest of all tastes and preferences.

FEA Consulting Engineers provided the full mechanical, plumbing, electrical, low voltage engineering design services for Resorts World.
