Situated next to the Thomas & Mack Center and the Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas, the Mendenhall Center serves as the practice facility for the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels’ men’s and women’s basketball teams. The three-level, 38,000 SF facility is considered one of the best of its kind in the nation.
FEA’s provided mechanical, plumbing, low voltage, and LEED® commissioning engineering services. The design included two full-sized practice courts, loft viewing area, a training area, weight room, a film room (theatre), study space, central plant, data room, locker rooms for players and coaches, and digital audio/visual and network systems. The project also included converting a coach breakroom into a 294 SF academic area and 118 SF tutoring space, as well as converting another breakroom into a 494 SF player’s lounge and a 127 SF breakroom.
